Larson Electronics Releases Explosion Proof Network IP Camera, 30FPS, 2.0MP Resolution, 108˚ FOV

EXPCMR-IP-POEP-2MP-IR-108D-1XLE3 high res image 1

Larson Electronics, a Texas-based company with over 40 years of experience spearheading the industrial lighting and equipment sectors, announced the release of an explosion proof network IP camera designed for observation in hazardous locations. This camera is dust, ignition, weather and tamper proof and offers operators a live feed from inside tanks, reactors, vessels and other hazardous locations. This unit features a built-in 1/2.5” progressive-scan CMOS image sensor that offers 2.0MP resolution at 30 fps.

The EXPCMR-IP-POEP-2MP-IR-108D-1XLE3 explosion proof network IP camera is rated for use in Class I, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups B, C and D; Class I, Zones 1 and 2, Groups IIB+H2 and IIA; Class II, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups E, F and G; and Class III, Divisions 1 and 2 hazardous locations. This camera offers a wide-angle fixed lens with 108˚ field of view to cover large work spaces. This camera comes with built-in infrared lights to capture images in low-light situations.

Larson Electronics’ explosion proof network IP camera features two lighting configurations, including spot and flood. This camera contains four Edison Edixeon® 3-watt LEDs that each produce 180 lumens of light output. These LEDs are arranged in rows and paired with high-purity 10˚ optics that produce a narrowly focused beam measuring 120 feet long by 60 feet wide. The flood beam configuration produces a 35˚ beam measuring 80 feet long by 80 feet wide.

The infrared light is powered with the network IP camera over PoE. The camera utilizes 120dB wide dynamic range, 3D digital noise reduction as well as true day/night IR-cut filter removal to produce clear images. This unit switches from full color to IR mode automatically when visible light falls below a certain level. Link-up with the network IP camera is done with a customer-provided RJ45 ethernet cable that is run back to a customer-provided DVR system.

The stream for this camera is recorded via an NVR, while live-view can be achieved without an NVR. This unit features a copper-free aluminum alloy body with an adjustable rear-mounted stainless-steel mounting bracket/handle. Suitable applications include vessel, tank and reactor monitoring, remote observation of external facilities, and more.
