Larson Electronics Releases Power Distribution Substation, 45 kVA Transformer, 480V-208Y/120V AC

KEMP, Texas, July 24, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Larson Electronics, a Texas-based company with over 40 years of experience spearheading the industrial lighting and equipment sectors, announced the release of a power distribution substation that converts 480V AC three-phase electrical current into single-phase 208Y/120V AC. This unit allows operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480V AC power from generators and direct grid power.

The MGS-7X480-45KVA-2X208.30A-12X120.20A portable power distribution substation offers operators the ability to power their 120V and 208V equipment from a single system. The primary side allows operators to connect 480V line-in power via 690-amp camlocks to one 200-amp ADR20034 480V receptacle and six, 100-amp, 4100R7W 480V receptacle. The secondary side offers operators the ability to connect two L21-30R 208V three-phase receptacles for their 208V equipment and a 12 5-20R GFCI receptacle for 120V equipment.

Larson Electronics’ portable power distribution system features a NEMA 3R 45 kVA transformer that converts 480V three-phase power to 208Y/120V three-phase and passes it to the secondary panel. The secondary side feeds a NEMA 3R 125-amp, 208Y/120V three-phase main lug panel. The transformer and load assembly are mounted on a 3/16-inch thick carbon steel mounting platform. The load center/distribution assembly is mounted to a standard 2-inch by 2-inch by 1/8-inch square carbon steel tubing frame.

This unit is equipped with forklift skid pockets, locking casters and an eyelet for lifting with chain or cable hooks. The transformer is grounded to the frame with a grounding lug provided. Suitable applications include indoor and outdoor settings, construction sites, plant maintenance and turnarounds and more.
