Las Vegas Welcomes New 24-Hour Animal Hospital
Online, May 16, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Southern Nevada's first 24-hour emergency and critical care animal hospital is opening to the public May 17. Veterinary Emergency + Critical Care (VE+CC) will offer emergency, critical and urgent care services for pets. The hospital is adjacent to the Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center at 8650 W. Tropicana Avenue at Durango Drive.
"This is the first 24-hour critical care facility in Las Vegas with a full-time staff on-site at all times," said David Mason, B. Vet. Med, MRCVS, DACVS, DECVS, surgeon and chief of staff for the Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center. Dr. Mason's special interests include arthroscopy, elbow dysplasia, thoracic surgery and porto-systemic shunts. "If your pet has an emergency situation, whether it is at 2 p.m. or 2 a.m., there will be doctors on-site to treat them immediately."
VE+CC's 3,500-square-foot facility includes four exam rooms, a triage area, an intensive care unit, a surgery suite, an x-ray room and an isolation room for animals with communicable diseases. It includes new state-of-the-art medical equipment, including a digital radiology system, telemetry, ultrasound, CT scanner and an MRI machine.
Both VE+CC and Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center are owned and operated by veterinarian partners including founding partner and senior staff surgeon William Hoefle, DVM, MS, DACVS. Dr. Hoefle's special interests include fracture repair, joint injuries, juvenile orthopedic diseases and training residents. Hoefle opened Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center (previously Las Vegas Veterinary Referral Center) in 2005.
"VE+CC is a direct result of the need we see in the Las Vegas veterinary community for a 24-hour facility," said Mason. "The hospital will help critically ill pets and pets stricken by serious medical or surgical conditions that need to receive treatment immediately. In many cases it can save their lives."
VE+CC and Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center work closely with local veterinarians and pet owners. Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center is a 17,000 square foot facility which offers surgery, internal medicine, oncology, cardiology, and ophthalmology services.
VE+CC is located at 8650 W. Tropicana Avenue in Las Vegas. It is open 24-Hours a day, seven days a week. For more information, visit http://vecc24.com or call (702) 262-7070.
