Online, July 23, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Lonnie K. 42, of Connellsville, PA found out three weeks ago that he only had a short time to live. He was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease. This news was devastating to him and his wife, Bobbie, their children and families. Unity, A Journey of Hope, a non-profit charity organization that grants wishes to adults with life-limiting illnesses stepped up to grant a wish to Lonnie. When asked what he wished for, Lonnie stated that he never had a "real" wedding and wanted to give that to his wife. With less than two weeks to plan a wedding, Unity volunteers feverishly worked to plan a wedding, and accomplished it in under three days! The Wedding is slated for August 1, 2010 for a renewal of vows ceremony at Juniata United Methodist Church, 4 pm, with a reception following at The Sons of Italy Hall in Connellsville from 5 pm to 10 pm. Unity secured donations for the entire wedding, including the wedding rings, church, hall, catering, cake, Bride's dress, Tux for the groom and limousine.
