Lauderdale-by-the-Sea Chamber of Commerce Elects New President and Chairman

Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, FL, April 16, 2015 (Newswire.com) - The Lauderdale-by-the-Sea Chamber of Commerce has appointed a new President, Courtney Stanford and elected a new Chairman, Tom Balcom, CFP®, CAIA, MBA of 1650 Wealth Management.

Stanford and Balcom have hit the ground running and are focusing on growing and re-energizing the current membership base. New monthly networking events have been scheduled, along with educational seminars focused on relevant topics to address business owner’s needs.  Top-notch Power Breakfast event series speakers have been lined up for 2015, including University of Miami Head Basketball Coach Jim Laranaga and the Director of the Hospitality Management Program at Florida Atlantic University, Dr. Peter Ricci.  On Friday, May 8th, Coach Jim Laranaga will be the key-note speaker for the Power Breakfast event which is being held at Coral Ridge Country Club in Fort Lauderdale.

The Chamber’s newest President, Courtney Standford has been instrumental in implementing several significant changes since her appointment, including revamping the Chamber’s website which allows members to further showcase their businesses.  She has also created an extremely popular weekly e-newsletter that profiles new members and keeps all Chamber members up-to-date on the latest events.   “Our Town Chamber is special due to our smaller size.  Our members are able to connect and partner with one another much more easily,” says Stanford.  She encourages local businesses in and around Lauderdale-by-the-Sea to review the many opportunities the Chamber offers its members.
