The last born in a large family, James A. Brown, Sr. grew up in South Carolina. Wanting to escape the confines of country life, he pursued a career as a U.S. Air Force Pilot, later becoming an Electrical Engineer as well. A recipient of many awards, including Federal Government Service Award, Department of the Army Achievement Award, U.N.C.F. Distinguished Service Award, and Elementary School Appreciation Award, he wrote A Simple Guide & Philosophy For Living Life for his son, with the intention of helping him create a clear plan and direction for his future.
