Le Meridien Amman Celebrates Healthy Life-Style

Le Meridien Amman Celebrates Healthy Life-Style, with the Assistance of the Hotel's Doctor

Le Meridien Amman recently concluded the "Healthy Living" campaign, which aimed at encouraging associates to maintain a healthy life-style and geared towards ensuring their physical and psychological well-being.

The one-week campaign placed great emphasis on associates assuming more responsibility for their own health, by raising awareness of the resources available to them on the property, such as the hotel doctor, Le Meridien Amman Health Club and Spa and the healthy meals available at the staff cafeteria.

During the "Healthy Living" week, the hotel doctor gave seminars on the importance of a well-balanced nutrition, ways to prevent and control some diseases, measured the associates' blood pressure, sugar level, and monitored their weight. The activities from Le Meridien Amman Health Club and Spa included training sessions on stretching exercises most suitable for office work, best practices on handling heavy items, and daily health tips sent by email as well as posted on Facebook. The Human Resources department, in cooperation with the Kitchen served simple, healthy yet delicious meals in the staff cafeteria.

Le Meridien Amman's Doctor; Dowaina Shawareb commented on this initiative by saying: "The well-being of our associates is a persistent responsibility that we assume earnestly. A healthy life-style entails energetic associates with positive attitudes; tributes that we cherish at the property and are committed to delivering to our guests."

About Le Meridien
Le Meridien, the French-born hotel brand currently represented by 105 properties in 50 countries, was acquired by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) in November 2005. Since then, Le Meridien has undergone a brand transformation, which included a consolidation of its hotels and resorts, appointing a full-time Cultural Curator (French arts-provocateur Jerôme Sans) and re-inventing numerous consumer touch points, by bringing unique, curated and interactive experiences to its guests. With nearly 70 of its hotels located in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, Le Meridien provides a strong international complement to Starwood's primarily North American holdings and consumer base. Plans call for dynamic expansion of Le Meridien hotels and resorts within the next five years, concentrating in the U.S., Latin America, and Asia-Pacific, including destinations such as India, Thailand and China. Le Meridien recently opened new hotels in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Chiang Rai in Thailand, Shimei Bay in China, and Dallas, Texas in the United States. Le Meridien will open hotels in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Panama City, Panama, and Xiamen, Chongqing Nan'an, and Qingdao in China. The company recently signed new hotel deals in Taipei, Taiwan.
