Leading Edge, LLC & Trumansburg School District Sign Worksite Wellness Agreement

Online, June 15, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Johnston, RI (June 1, 2010): Leading Edge will begin providing worksite wellness solutions to the faculty and staff of the Trumansburg School District effective immediately. The grand roll-out is scheduled for the start of the 2010-2011 school year.

Leading Edge, LLC founder Scott Andrews, a graduate of Trumansburg School District (1991), said "The faculty, staff and administrators work hard all year and most aren't able to dedicate the extra time and energy to coordinate and sustain wellness initiatives all year long. We're alleviating that burden from their wellness committee and making the process much simpler for them."

The wellness solutions model being implemented will allow for the wellness committee to maintain ownership of the wellness initiatives while not getting caught up in the minute details of implementing programs throughout the year. Our solutions inlcude three main elements that industry experts often agree as being essential to any wellness program:
1. Top level administrative support and participation
2. Communication
3. Promotion

We plan to present programs that address stress, healthy eating, cardiovascular health, physical activity. On the face of it, they don't seem all that flashy or exciting. But the excitement is in the details of those programs. Proposed details could include a movie month, chair massages, Turkey trots, cancer walks, nutrition lunch & learns, health fairs, safety challenges, etc. We'll propose virtually anything that we believe conveys the right message of the program, gets people involved and keeps them engaged.

We know that a return on investment is important with most ventures, this agreement is not based on a return on investment (ROI) model per se. Most ROI models require a 3 year wait to realize any return and there have been hundreds of models evaluated to know that any investment will return a savings. Nationally the average ranges from $3-$4 saved per $1 invested (1:3). We agreed to focus more on the positive morale and vitality of the collective school community that will result from these sustained efforts. Any savings the school realizes will be icing on the cake.

We've already started the communication and promotion process to close out the school year. We're very interested and excited to have the opportunity to roll-out next school year.
