Learn to Snowboard in the Cloud—An Industry First
Park City, Utah, December 28, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Certified Snowboard Pro, Blake Tholen Clark, just launched a first-of-its-kind online snowboard school. Flowing Freeride Online Snowboard School (FFR) provides students complete snowboard lessons—from kids to extreme. Alongside video courses in snowboarding and mountain training, FFR will offer another industry first—online video movement analysis of client’s footage. “Learning to snowboard is about interaction and online students are no exception… they need direct feedback.” says Blake— level 3 certified by the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI) who has taught for 17 years. “I watched my clients excel when I started filming their sessions and reviewing it with them. Plus, it’s fun. So I wanted to expand that service.”
While Blake admits there are other snowboard programs online, he found the lack of professional training available concerning. “Often, online snowboard programs jump right into flashy freestyle tricks glossing over essential progressions that certified pros teach our students to build up to extreme snowboarding safely…” adds Blake; “I’ve seen too many riders with head and spine injuries, bad habits, or beginners that catch an edge so hard they quit before they ever feel the adrenaline of a pow day.” However, with a freestyle accreditation and experience as a sponsored competitor qualifying for nationals in half-pipe, slope-style, slalom, giant slalom and boarder X, Blake knows all about the passion and injuries of extreme snowboarding. He trains his snowboard clients according to methods followed by AASI certified instructors, which emphasizes safety through progressions.
"Our courses cover every snowboarding topic: gear, safety, terrain, drills, weather—it's all there at the click of a button. We have textbook ebooks, diagrams, glossaries of snowboard terms, fun yet challenging final exams, and even a certificate of completion—everything you find in a real course. Plus, students can get direct one-on-one pro feedback of their riding with video movement analysis."
