Leavenworth Inn Makes Room for Cancer Patients
Leavenworth, WA, May 16, 2017 (Newswire.com) - All Seasons River Inn, in Leavenworth, Washington, is working with Cancer Care of NCW in Wenatchee, Washington, to provide getaways, free of charge, for those undergoing treatment for cancer.
Their business model is simple. For every 20 paid nightly rentals, the owners will block out a suite for use by a cancer patient. The owners make available one- and two-night stays at the Inn for free for those in the midst of the most trying time of their lives.
All Seasons River Inn is located one mile from downtown Leavenworth on Icicle Road. The Inn sits on the banks of the Wenatchee River and every room has stunning views of the riverfront.
Icicle Road is the gateway to The Enchantments as well as numerous other beautiful hikes. Icicle Road is also home to a great many recreational activities; cross country skiing, snow shoeing, rock climbing, fishing, sleigh rides, hiking, rafting, tubing, mountain biking and other outdoor adventures are only minutes from the Inn.
The most important aspect of the Inn’s business model is that paid guests will not be charged more for the rooms in order to provide the free rooms. Said Dean Johnson, one of the owners, “We wanted to find a way that challenged us to sacrifice revenue and not just pass the buck on to our paying customers.”
Owner Tina DeMiglio added, “Because the ratio is built into our business model, it’s not subject to our discretion or put on hold during the more lucrative times of the vacation rental year.”
When asked why they want to do this, the four owners agreed on one simple motivation: “We have been blessed in life and now it’s our time to give back.” The four wanted to build a business that had benevolence as an intrinsic element to it and was not reliant on donations or passing the cost on to others.
Said owner, Ron DeMiglio, “The more paid guests we book, the more free nights we give away to cancer treatment patients. It’s that simple. Nobody that stays here, paid or free, will ever feel that they were taken advantage of or not provided with the very best accommodations available.” The Inn boasts 6 deluxe view suites. All the suites have a smart TV, internet, Keurig coffee machine, DVD player, access to an extensive DVD library, deck or patio, microwave, refrigerator, and most suites have a large Jacuzzi soaking tub and/or gas fireplace.
Said owner Shelly Johnson, “Coming alongside an organization like Cancer Care of NCW feels like the perfect complement to what we want All Seasons River Inn to be about. It’s a way to share this magical place with others during a difficult season for them.”
