Leda, a 3D Indie Film Based on Greek Myth Leda & the Swan, Begins Production/Kickstarter in Baltimore
Baltimore, MD, September 23, 2016 (Newswire.com) - LEDA, a 3D film based on the Greek Myth, now in production, launches fundraising campaign.
It’s been years in the making (almost four), but director Samuel Tressler IV has finally begun shooting LEDA, a 3D Black and White feature film based on the myth Leda & the Swan.
A mixture of the old and new, Leda will be a Black and White, 3-D feature film and employ both old school pre-dialogue film techniques that rely heavily on action over dialogue, as well as an immersive soundscape/music. It tells the tale of a fairy tale couple, their experience with a divine event, and the tragic circumstances. The film at its core moves between romance, drama, thriller and moments of horror.
The entire project is slated to be shot in Maryland and an impressive team of professionals around the DC/Baltimore area include Nick Midwig (Beware the Slenderman), Grey Adkins (House of Cards), 3D specialist Vince Toto (Dredd 3D, Predator 2), AC Spencer Grundler (Call Girl of Cthulhu), and many others.
After an initial Indiegogo campaign and an award/grant from Celtx Seeds for Best Teaser, most of the budget has been raised through the Director and Producer and in kind equipment donations from Archai Media. With the funds, the team got through 100% of pre-production and has already shot 20% of the script.
For the rest of the film, shooting in November/December, Kickstarter was chosen as the crowdfunding platform, with many unique rewards added in hopes to find those interested in funding unique independent film projects. The campaign runs until October 21st.
