Leopoly Brings a Simplified, Personal Touch to 3D Printing

3D printing software company teams up with top industry players to provide a simple and elegant personal touch to product creation.

Leopoly’s 3D printing software, with its easy-to-use interface, enables anybody to create their own personalized products from a personal device. Since launching in 2015, Leopoly has partnered with over a dozen companies in the 3D printing space and worked with Fortune 100 technology and retail companies to enable customers to create and customize their own products.

“One night I decided to create a cabinet knob in my daughter’s room. I selected the shape, color, even the material, and I put my personal message engraved in it, all completed in seconds. Magic!” says Roland Manyai, CEO of Leopoly.

Manyai questioned how 3D technology could be one of the fastest growing tech sectors, but only reach consumers on a small scale. He realized that while 3D demand has been around for some time, most people are not 3D experts or professional designers. The missing piece was a simple and accessible platform for people to easily create and enjoy their 3D products. Leopoly has successfully created that interface and platform.

Leopoly is a 14-membered, 3D focused software and service company based in San Francisco and Budapest. They are all passionate about bringing personalized product creation to a fun and daily routine for anyone.

The company was selected in the River Accelerator’s 3rd class, an accelerator and advisement course at Rothenberg Ventures, in hopes of becoming the most promising ‘frontier technology’ startup to specialize in 3D printing and object creation software. Leopoly also raised a seed round earlier this year with Rothenberg Ventures, PortfoLion, and AndGo Partners.

“By enabling creation and printing of 3D objects without experience or specialized knowledge, Leopoly has moved us forward into a world of mass customization." said Neil Devani, Rothenberg Ventures Investment Team Manager and Leopoly Deal Rep.

In 2015, Leopoly’s accessible platform was introduced as a pilot project at the Orchard store in Mountain View, California. Customers in the store could select from an array of templates displaying home accessories and items, include their desired personal message or detail, and receive their 3D printed item in minutes, and all by the help of a touchscreen computer.

The team is currently working on a second-generation retail solution, that will empower retailers to offer online product personalization to customers. Earlier this year, Leopoly launched their 3D application on HP’s Sprout device and will announce a new design application in virtual reality this summer. The new reveal will connect 3D design and printing with the VR world and provide users with easy 3D printed renders of their VR experiences.

“I would love to share this amazing experience with everyone. The ability to immediately create a well desired and personalized product whether it be eyewear, furniture, gifts, shoes, medical accessories or even toys for your children - that is what Leopoly is about.” Manyai said.
