The third cleanliness drive of 'Amritsar Sparkling' started from Deendayal Upadhyay Market - Hall Gate - DAV College and finished at Hathi Gate Singh on July 04, 2011. The Municipal Corporation of Amritsar provided Garbage Lifting Autos; Ditch Machines; Road Sweeping Machines; Water Sprinkling Machines; Fogging Machines and Tippers to help keep the City Clean, Green and Free of Water-Borne Diseases. The route was covered with volunteers standing along with placards at different spots who distributed leaflets before and during the cleanliness drive to increase awareness.

The drive was a huge hit with the People of Amritsar who came out in full force to support the movement. The volunteers gave out leaflets and explained the value of this cleanliness drive to various shop keepers who totally supported and agreed with the importance of their role in keeping the city clean and sparkling. They also hoped that this drive will help making the system realize the grass root problems in terms of cleaning and take corrective actions. The campaign covered over 300 shops throughout the route.

The objective of this eco-drive was to clean the Holy City. This eco-initiative by AlphaOne also educated people about the facilities available to them for fostering clean and hygienic environment through the Mayor's office and MC and to also take pride in keeping the Holy City clean by doing their own bit, e.g., not dumping garbage on road sides, spitting, etc. Shopkeepers were requested to clean their premises before closing their shops so that garbage can be lifted the very next day in the morning. They were also requested to place a dustbin inside their shop or house and to not throw garbage in front of shops or homes.

Mr. Prodipta Sen, Executive Director, Alpha G:Corp voiced, "We are committed to creating positive awareness about sustainable and healthy living in Amritsar, with the goal of making it a model city in terms of hygiene and civic amenities. We have been fortunate to have the required support from the Mayor's office and the Municipal Corporation. The drive is also aimed to create awareness about hygiene and environmental issues, and promoting solutions essential to a sustainable, healthy and greener environment among citizens. Various departments like sanitation and horticulture have readily agreed to participate in the removal of garbage, debris and water receptacles for better sanitation and greening for all."

Mr. Lakhwinder Singh, a Resident of Amritsar stated, "I am happy that AlphaOne has started this cleanliness drive to make Amritsar sparkling. I will also support and participate in this cleanliness drive along with all other people who agree with the importance of their role in keeping the city clean and sparkling. We want our city to look clean as Amritsar is a holy place and many tourists come to Amritsar".

AlphaOne as a destination point will remain involved with various initiatives that qualitatively and quantitatively contribute to the betterment of societal welfare especially in realms of health, positive public awareness, community participation, cultural and spiritual well-being.
