Life On Mars--Two UM Graduates Create Sitcom Pilot With Emmy Award Winning Father

Graduating Film Majors Independently Fund TV Pilot Through IndieWire

Jake Gillman and Andie Isaacs are both graduating seniors at the University of Miami. The graduates have teamed together with Isaacs' Emmy award winning father, David Isaacs (credits include M*A*S*H, Cheers, The Simpsons, Frasier, and more). David also graduated from the U in '71 making this the university's first family legacy collaboration. The team is developing a pilot about a man from Brooklyn, David Mars, and his struggles to become a prominent screenwriter. To make this project possible, the production team has turned to the crowdfunding community on Indiegogo. The goal is for the graduates to raise $20,000.

Alec Roth, son of producer and screenwriter, Eric Roth, will produce the pilot alongside graduating seniors Alexa Prosniewski and Robert Combs. Both Isaacs and Gillman have previous experience working on pieces of work on HBO. Isaacs worked on the new series, Ballers, and Gillman wrote the screenplay "The Things They Left Behind".

"After reading the first page of the script, I called my daughter and said I am 100% in. Gillman is a young Woody Allen"

David Isaacs, Executive Producer
