Lifesaving Shelters to Haiti

LAGUNA BEACH, CA - APRIL 24, 2010 - Universal Space Frames, Inc., (USF) the manufacturer of weight-bearing humanitarian shelters, today announced its support of a Humanitarian Relief Mission to Haiti by the University of IOWA. The Relief Mission will depart May 12th for Port Au Prince, to provide much needed relief supplies, potable water devices and USF Shelters; with a special emphasis on providing physical and mental health services for Haitian children.

USF co- founder, Steven Miller will join Mrs. McCue and her IOWA University Human Health Studies students along with Iowa' businessman Andy Hasley and his son Thomas Hasley. As a class, a team of students and small businessmen, the expedition's goal is assist Haitians to advance to a healthier, more equitable, and secure future. During their stay, the expedition members will be living and working in USF Shelters which they will donate to earthquake victims upon departure.
"Our hope is that our shelters can be manufactured in Haiti, by Haitians in an ongoing, sustainable enterprise to provide shelter, economic recovery and employment to people in Haiti," said USF's Steve Miller. "By getting people and food stuffs off the ground, inhabitants enjoy greater warmth, comfort and hygienic conditions that lessen their chances of contracting respiratory and/or bacterial infections."
