Lighting Of The National Christmas Tree 2013

Online, November 27, 2013 (Newswire.com) - New Jersey based acoustic Christmas trio-The Jersey Shore Waves of Christmas has been selected as one of ten performances included in the 2013 Lighting of the National Christmas Tree held on December 6, 2013. The trios founder flamenco guitarist David Cohen has performed in the past for the National Park Service/White House event. This year performing alongside David Cohen is band member and past event performer, guitarist David Shabtay. Shabtay heads the Philadelphia based band Philaphonix that is currently making a name for themselves in the Philadelphia and New Jersey area. Newest member in the lineup is Mezzo Soprano Cindy Allen. Allen performs regulary in concert with the New Jersey Chamber Singers along with performing in solo recitals througout the state. Together they perform a unique blend of traditional Christmas carols ranging from classical, world, blues and Broadway. 

Other pre-show performers include: Snowday, Georgetown Day School Singers, Eric Henning, MadriGals from the Chesapeake Choral Arts Socitey, The Noel Singers, St. Andrew Singers, Krista Monique Clouse, 714 and Paul Belanger. 

This years main stage performers include: The Avett Brothers, Joshua Bell, Renee Fleming, Forte, Aretha Franklin, Janelle Monae, Prince Royce, Arturo Sandoval and Train. The event is hosted by the President of the United States.
