Linley Named New Executive Director of Palm Beach County Sports Commission
WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. (February 2, 2010) - George Linley, a seven-year veteran of the Palm Beach County Sports Commission, was selected as the organization's new executive director. Linley was unanimously approved by the commission's 28-member board of directors.
A lifelong resident of Palm Beach County, Linley possesses over a decade of sports industry experience. He most recently served as event manager at the PBCSC, where he:
• managed major sporting events
• oversaw the PBCSC's $250,000 annual grant program
• devised and implemented comprehensive organizational strategies, goals and performance measures
• developed wide ranging profit-sharing partnerships with numerous governing bodies and event owners from across the nation
Linley has built a reputation for successfully identifying and bringing national and international sporting events to Palm Beach County, and lending his planning and logistical expertise to the events and partner organizations.

Prior to the PBCSC, Linley served as marketing sales executive for Roger Dean Stadium where he successfully developed and marketed advertising and sponsorship packages to a variety of national companies.
Linley earned a master's degree in business administration, with a sports management concentration, from Florida Atlantic University, and a bachelor's degree in business management from Palm Beach Atlantic College.

The Palm Beach County Sports Commission (PBCSC) is contracted by Palm Beach County to promote and market the County as a sports and sports tourism destination.
