"We're anti-institutional," says Brush. "You will not see nursing uniforms in our properties; you won't see all those trappings of a hospital on our properties. It's also very rewarding. Our staff make wonderful connections and relationships with the residents and the staff become a big part of the residents' lives, but they have to maintain a certain degree of professional distance on some topics."
