Live Oak Bank Pledges $3,000 to Assist Project C.U.R.E.

Project C.U.R.E. will hold this years First Ladies' Luncheon on Friday, September 16th, providing an educational opportunity for distinguished guests to learn how the organization lends healthcare assistance to developing countries.

Wilmington, NC - On Friday, September 16th, Project C.U.R.E. will hold their largest fundraising event of the year, the First Ladies' Luncheon. This year's luncheon, held at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Denver, will welcome Bolormaa Khajidsuren, the first lady of Mongolia. Each year, nearly 2,000 distinguished guests join together to learn about the First Lady's key healthcare issues and raise funding to deliver life-saving medical supplies and equipment to the most deserving hospitals and clinics throughout her country. Former First Ladies' Luncheons have welcomed Senora Ana Ligia de Saca of El Salvador, Mrs. Margarita Zavala of Mexico, Mrs. Kim Simplis of Belize, Mrs. Ernestina Naadu Mills of Ghana, the First Lady of Panama, Mrs. Marta Martinelli, and most recently Mrs. Mama Salma Kikwete, First Lady of Tanzania.

"Around the world, there are so many impoverished countries; it's unfortunate that we cannot lend assistance to all of them," commented Brian Faulk. "By offering financial support to Project C.U.R.E., we are able to help people who typically do not have access to quality healthcare. The medical supplies and equipment that are covered by charitable contributions change the lives of these people who desperately need our help."

"We are so appreciative of all of our donors and are hoping that the First Ladies' Luncheon will be an educational opportunity for our attendees to learn how our organization improves the lives of people in developing countries like Mongolia," said Stephanie York, Denver Operations Director for Project Cure. "When Live Oak Bank called and volunteered their time and financial support, I was glad they were interested in helping us fight the current global healthcare crisis. One child dies every three seconds, so we need as many corporate and individual supporters as possible to help deliver hope and medical assistance to underserved hospitals and clinics in countries around the globe."

In 2007, Live Oak Bank started to provide veterinary business loans to small, independent businesspeople looking to expand, remodel, refinance and/or acquire an existing practice. From the beginning, we took a personal approach and saw our clients not as numbers, but as real people facing real-life opportunities and challenges. We offer big bank expertise but provide personal attention to all of our customers to ensure their long-term success. It worked - for us as well as our clients - and we expanded our veterinary funding programs to serve the needs of private pharmacies and dental offices across the country.
