Live Webcast of MMC and IMA Interaction for Doctors All Over Maharashtra

Online, June 24, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Mumbai: Doctors across Maharashtra can now participate in a Live webcast of the Interaction between members of the Maharashtra Medical Council and members of the Indian Medical Association which will be held at the IMA - Mumbai West Branch on Sunday, 26th of June 2011 at 10:00 am to 1 pm IST. This is the first time in the entire history of IMA and the Medical Council of India, that such an interaction will be broadcasted on the Internet to increase interactions with all doctors across the state.

This Interaction will include the newly elected members along with the President of MMC Dr Kishor Taori, who will be joined by other MMC members Dr. Shivkumar Utture, Dr. Nilima A Kshirsagar, Dr. Santosh Kadam, Dr. Bipin Pandit, Dr. Suhas Pingle and Dr Suresh Rao and also Medical Council activist Dr. Arun Bal.

The discussion topic covered by the above speakers on behalf of the Council will include Renewal of Registration, Viewpoint of MCI, Viewpoint of a Teaching Institue, Viewpoint of Doctors in Service. Viewpoint of Specialists/ Hospital Owners. Viewpoint of Family Physician and also involve Questions and Answers session.

President of IMA -Mumbai West Branch, Dr. Ashok Balsekar said, "In the era where commuting is more and more difficult and communication is becoming easier and easier, IMA - Mumbai West is taking a giant leap ahead in taking a CME programme to the doorstep of doctors. If shopping can be done online and there are virtual classrooms all over the world, why not CMEs? This step will take a long way to help our fraternity to get the credit points from the comforts of their very homes or from their practise."

The webcast is absolutely free and requires a simple registration to be filled in order to view it and also for Doctors to ask questions and participate in an Online Polling system on the pressing requirements to be met and on the direction in which the newly formed State Medical Council should take on various issues. Questions asked through the online webcast can be directed to the MCI members to answer.

MMC is aggressively looking at the possibility of Online CMEs and Credit points for Doctor's who do not have access to or time to attend On-ground CME's ,

The Webcast will also be archived for those who missed it and can also post their queries and participate on an Online Discussion on the DocMode website which will be sent to be reviewed by the MMC members.
