Living At Our Best - Let's Move!

Hudson River HealthCare will host the 5th Annual Living at Our Best, a health and wellness event in Peekskill on Saturday, November 5th, 9:00 am until 1 pm; doors open to the public at 8:30 am.

The theme of this year's Event is "Let's Move" and will feature a 1 mile Fun Walk in Downtown Peekskill that will begin and end at Pugsley Park. On-site registration for the Fun Walk begins at 8:30 am, and the walk kicks off at 9:30 am. Our guest emcee is Kacey Morabito, of WHUD Radio, who will encourage and energize the walkers. The purpose of the walk is two-fold: to get the community moving more on a daily basis and raise awareness of organizations that are making a difference with their efforts to help out with hunger, food security and wellness in a holistic manner. Notably, the walk event will promote Fred's Pantry which is operated by Caring for the Homeless in Peekskill and the newly established Jason C. Paige Health & Wellness Center in honor of the late Jason C. Paige.

After the Fun Walk the public is invited to experience a variety of free wellness activities including workshops (Tai Chi, Acupressure and Food demonstrations) and take advantage of free health screenings for cholesterol, glucose/blood sugar and blood pressure. The activities will be held at the Hudson River HealthCare Center in Peekskill, 1037 Main Street.

Everyone is invited to participate in the Fun Walk. The first one hundred people to register and complete the walk will have a chance to win an IPod, valued at $200. To register for the Free workshops, go to www.active.com keyword: Peekskill, or pick up a Fun Walk registration form at the Health Center Lobby at 1037 Main street. For more details call Elizabeth L. Phillips, at 734-8612. This year's fun walk is being managed by Events To Remember, a boutique event management company www.eventsremember.com.
