Local Business Women Train with Utah's Leading Family Safety Expert
Local business women learn about self defense and personal safety at networking event in West Jordan.
Online, November 19, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Last Wednesday a group of local Utah business women attended a workshop at Key Bank in West Jordan to learn about some basic self defense and personal protection concepts and techniques. With the holidays approaching crimes are on the rise, so it is important for everyone to know how to protect themselves. At this workshop for local business women, "Utah's Leading Family Safety Expert" Brett Lechtenberg walked through some basic, but extremely beneficial, safety and self defense information for women.
Brett covered basic safety and protection concerns from how to spot and avoid common scams, to easy ways to protect yourself from someone who means you physical harm. Some of the common scams that were discussed included phishing scams, identity theft scams, and even ways that criminals will scope out a target home or neighborhood. Brett talked about several ways to avoid scams and how to spot some of the newer scams that are being used right now.
Brett brought along a professional training team so that he could also answer questions about self defense and have his team demonstrate some basic self defense techniques. The team members he brought with him, Aaron Doucet and Brittany Alleman Ayers, are highly trained and highly skilled personal safety instructors. At the end of the workshop Brett allowed the ladies in attendance to ask any questions they had about self defense, which he then answered while Aaron and Brittany demonstrated the self defense techniques and concepts. They talked about a variety of common concerns that many women have - such as what do to if somebody grabs you from behind, grabs you by the hair, or tries to choke you.
Brett Lechtenberg has been teaching personal safety and protection courses for more than 20 years. He owns and runs a martial arts facility where his students learn not only traditional martial arts, but also have the opportunity to take part in a tactical self defense program (for adults). He has helped thousands of people across the country learn how to protect themselves and their families through his comprehensive lecture series, women's safety course, and personal protection programs.
This workshop was generously hosted by Key Bank in West Jordan. Key Bank is dedicated to their clients, customers, and the community. Branch manager Gloria Salazar and her team continuously promote the safety and well-being of members of the community. They play active roles in the community throughout the year. Currently, they are running a Christmas program to help provide Christmas gifts for seniors in the community. If you want to participate call or visit Key Bank in West Jordan.
Gloria Salazar, who was in attendance at the workshop, said, "Brett and his team were very professional. The Key for Women networking group really enjoyed his presentation and thought the information was very beneficial. We support him 100%!"
