Local Citizens Launch Manual and Website to Curtail the Extent of Disaster Aftermaths

Benjamin and Bart Lee have launched a website that will begin supplying teachers, parents, nurses, clinics and organizations with tools to teach and remind individuals about preventative care. The website at www.OUTFOXprevention.com currently exhibits a manual that is for the school industry but can be used for any field until other versions are released (i.e. Medical Version, Food Service Version, etc.).

A local school principal states "Teachers and students are healthier and happier!" after using the OUTFOX manual and materials. Other teachers say, "This type of program is a MUST for my classroom every year!" and another acclaims "I would recommend this product to all parents."

With the crisis in Japan sill looming, we should be asking whether WE are prepared for the crises that may affect us. Earthquakes, floods, and government failures are only a few disasters that could devastate our areas. As seen in Japan, the worst parts of disasters do not necessarily occur the first day or two- it often is the aftermath that causes the most suffering. Specifically, hygiene and health standards break down as health services, prescriptions, vaccinations, and other hygiene products become harder to find.

The only way to prepare is by being mentally and physically prepared with knowledge (knowledge to maintain basic hygiene standards) and supplies. A local hospital administrator states that OUTFOX products have been "instrumental in illustrating the proper prevention of spreading diseases" and that it would have helped the situation when he was called upon to aid with the Hurricane victims that were recently affected in Houston, TX. Hence, OUTFOX decided to specialize in teaching hygiene principles that not only help a person more easily survive through the aftermath of a disaster, but also live healthier today.

Current editions of OUTFOX's material focus on early childhood and K-6 age school children. By educating the younger population to maintain clean environments and take responsibility for their health, children will get sick less often and know what to do when hygiene standards break down around them.

OUTFOX manuals are unique because they provide the HOW of hygiene and infection control. Specifically, Government organizations and other companies have been effective at providing the WHAT (standards, recommendations and so forth), but have been ineffective at relaying the HOW.
