Local Dermatologist Selected To Compete In The 2010 Ford World Ironman Championship, Teams Up With Skin Cancer Foundation To Raise Awareness About Skin Cancer Prevention.

Online, September 3, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Verona, New Jersey- - This year Robert Nossa MD, was selected to compete in the 2010 Ford World Ironman Championship in Kona, Hawaii. This race is one of the biggest challenges the sports world has to offer with 2,000 athletes from around the world competing in a 140.6 mile triathlon. Athletes will have to endure 2.4 miles of swimming through tough ocean waves, 112 miles of biking, and a 26.2 mile marathon run through challenging wind and sun scorched, lava-covered terrain.

Dr. Nossa lives in Montclair NJ, and is a Board Certified Dermatologist practicing with The Dermatology Group, PC. Dr. Nossa is taking this unique opportunity to partner with the Skin Cancer Foundation (SCF) to raise money to support the Foundation's community awareness about skin cancer prevention. Recently the SCF attended the FDA hearings in Washington, DC to reclassify tanning beds as carcinogens and the Foundation is currently advocating for $5M to be allocated to skin cancer research.
