Local Gulf Shores, AL Family Opens All New Milkshake and Cookie Dough Bar in Gulf Shores, AL
The Yard Milkshake Bar Grand Opening is May 19th, 2017
Gulf Shores, Alabama, May 17, 2017 (Newswire.com) - The Yard Milkshake Bar is not your average ice cream shop. Not only do they have 28 flavors of hand-dipped premium ice cream, they also serve up specialty milkshakes with crazy toppings like doughnuts, cotton candy, brownies and cupcakes. The best part of all is they will be offering a selection of edible cookie dough at their new store, too. All of these can be combined to build your own milkshake creation.
This is not the first ice cream shop for owners Chelsea and Logan Green. They have also owned Island Ice Cream on West Beach in Gulf Shores for 6 years. Chelsea says she got the idea for this new shop a few months ago after experimenting with some milkshakes at Island Ice Cream. She says, "I love combining the flavors and toppings to make new creations. I wanted our customers to be able to come up with their own milkshakes and sundaes easily. The way our menu is at The Yard, everyone will be able to build a new shake or sundae every time they come in."
"There will be raffles throughout the night starting at 5 p.m. on Friday. Prizes include gift cards, free milkshakes and cookie dough. Live music will be in the courtyard starting at 6:30."
Chelsea Green, Owner
The Yard menus are made up like a checklist where customers can pick from 28 ice cream flavors, 8 cookie dough's and 40 toppings to create the perfect shake or sundae. They also have cones, floats and bowls for those who are looking to stay on the simple side.
The new shop is located inside the Pelican Place Shopping Center between Target and The Cobb Theater. There will be raffles on opening night starting at 5 p.m. on Friday. Prizes include gift cards, free milkshakes and cookie dough.
Live music will be in the courtyard starting at 6:30. This is the start of a summer concert series at The Pelican Place that will happen every Friday throughout the Summer.
The grand opening comes just in time for summer falling on the same weekend as the annual Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The Pelican Place will also be a trolley stop for The Hangout Festival, and the owner hopes this will bring even more customers to the opening.
