Local Philanthropist Hosts Eighth Annual Charity Christmas Party
Spread the Holiday Cheer with Event to Benefit the Brain Injury Association of Illinois
CHICAGO, December 5, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Local philanthropist, Marco Foster, is slated to host his eighth annual “The Grinch Who Gave Back Christmas” event benefiting the Brain Injury Association of Illinois. This year’s event will take place on December 14, from 8 p.m. - 11 p.m. It will be held at Chicago hot spot The Underground Chicago located at 56 W Illinois. During the three-hour event, the nightclub will be transformed into “Whoville.”
Marco Foster is a Chicago native who grew up in the Department of Child and Family Services system, until he was adopted by his parents, at age seven. Several years ago, this IT Professional turned philanthropist, woke up and began experiencing trouble with his vision. Under the directive of his boss, Marco sought medical attention at which point doctors discovered a tumor sitting on his frontal lobe, bleeding on his optic nerve. After a successful removal surgery, Marco made it his mission to turn his passion for event planning into a charitable effort to give back.
Both of these charities support causes that are very near and dear to my heart. Growing up in the foster care system and surviving a brain tumor are two life-altering experiences. They both shaped me into the man I am today so I want to do my part to help organizations that help others who find themselves in situations similar to mine.

Not only does he throw an annual Christmas event, but he also hosts an event of comparable notoriety, his annual White Party. The White Party, which takes place in the summer, is thrown to benefit One Hope United. He selected to support these two particular charities due to the experiences and biggest life challenges, growing up in foster care and having a brain tumor.
“Both of these charities support causes that are very near and dear to my heart,” Marco said. “Growing up in the foster care system and surviving a brain tumor are two life-altering experiences. They both shaped me into the man I am today so I want to do my part to help organizations that help others who find themselves in situations similar to mine.”
The Brain Injury Association of Illinois is a not-for-profit, statewide membership organization comprised of people with brain injuries, family members, friends, and professionals. Both organizations supported by these events are geared toward helping Illinois residents specifically.
