Chad Arnold, co-owner of the Award Winning Sacramento Moving Company, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, will be celebrating his 10 year anniversary this year with the company.
Online, January 8, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Chad Arnold, co-owner of the Award Winning Sacramento Moving Company, TWO MEN AND ATRUCK, will be celebrating his 10 year anniversary this year with the company. Throughout that time, Mr. Arnold has witnessed his fair share of trials and tribulations.
In an economy that keeps struggling in the local Sacramento area, Chad Arnold still finds ways to manage. In doing so, he was able to open two other locations of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® with his business partner, Mark Snyir, within the last year.
We had a chance to sit down with Chad Arnold to see what has gotten him through these last 10 years and what were some of his fondest memories that he could recount for our readers.
Mr. Arnold when did you first start with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®?
Arnold: Back in September 1999, time flies by, it sure doesn't seem that long.
Can you tell us what your first day was like?
Arnold: Sure. My boss and owner Noel Bergeron came to the office, handed me 2 TMT (TWO MEN AND A TRUCK) shirts and said, "See you in a week"!
Sounds Crazy. What is the best lesson you learned?
Arnold: That your way is not always the best way.
Well, okay. I learned that in grade school, but continuing, what is the Best advice you can give a fellow business owner?
Arnold: (Sighs, leans in and looks me dead in the eyes) Stay focused, practice what you preach.
"Didn't Barry White say that too?"
Arnold: You going to let me finish?
"Sorry, continue please".
Arnold: The ideas and dreams you may have for company or for yourself can only be accomplished if you surround yourself with others that believe in those very same things.
I imagine in your business, you have many stressful situations that come up daily, how do you handle those?
Arnold: I prioritize the situation and attack it head on. I break the issue down into parts and solve or delegate the simple tasks of that situation. I feel that during a stressful time remaining calm with a level head is "key". I try not to think of the worst case scenario or make assumptions of what could happen. I strongly believe that if you walk into it with confidence and a positive thought then you can manage anything.
Who would you characterize as a Mentor?
Arnold: Melanie Bergeron. Her dedication and enthusiasm for the company she works for is amazing. Her ability to see the positive in each and every situation is something I truly admire.
Do you have any funny stories that have happened to you at work that you could share with us?
Arnold: Labor Day Weekend. It was my first year, and my employee got hurt and I had to go out and help finish the move, which was all going into storage. Long story short, the truck for stuck in the customer's front lawn and we needed to get it towed. I worked until 3am and slept through the entire Holiday Weekend.
Any funnier stories?
Arnold: (Sighs).
Okay, moving on. What is Chad Arnold's overall Goal, your end game accomplishment?
Arnold: To be the best moving company in Northern California.
Sounds like an obtainable goal there, Chad. We wish you the best of luck. One final question, have you ever received any bad advice?
Arnold: Can't think of any right now.
Well Chad. Thanks for your time today and allowing us to interview you today. I'm sure our readers will have a lot to think about.
