Local Tampa Architect Receives One of 10 National Leadership Grants

InVision Advisors proudly announces Manager Jonathan Moore, AIA has received one of 10 national grants for Community- Based Leadership Training from the American Institute of Architects with his acceptance into the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce.

The purpose of the AIA grant is to support architect members seeking to build on their expertise as leaders and create a larger network of leadership opportunities for AIA members nationwide. Building a stronger and larger network of AIA member-leaders means that the AIA is better prepared to become involved in political issues affecting community planning and development, or serve as spokespersons for issues important to the designed environment and quality of life in our communities.

Leadership Tampa has been introducing its class members to major facets of the greater Tampa community through an intensive nine-month course since 1971. Founded by the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Tampa's members participate in educational sessions, tours and candid conversations with community leaders. Topics including law enforcement, education, social services, the environment, economic development and the arts. The program challenges members to see their community as they never have before.

Moore is an architect-by-training turned development consultant. "I will always be a registered architect, it's in my blood and it's how I approach problems," Jonathan says. "The grant is a great opportunity for me to understand where I fit into the fabric of the community and build long lasting relationships. The AIA has shown forward-thinking and an interest in getting architects out in the community to represent our industry. Architects are the life-blood of the economy, driving development, construction and finance. We all need to take a more active role in what's going on around us. "

Now operating on the Owner's side of construction, Jonathan leads development projects including a new medical office building on Swann Avenue, the renovation of the historic Ft. Hesterly Armory, a master plan for Sun City Center and is partnering with Lighthouse Advisors to help CASA build a new domestic violence shelter in St. Petersburg.

InVision Advisors provides Owner's Representation and Project Management services to any project, from small additions to large-scale developments. Owner's Representatives assist with the selection of architects, develop project schedules, lead meetings, provide third party reviews as well as being the "owner's tuned eyes" during the entire design and construction process.
