Local Wantagh NY Dealer Announces 2013 Subaru Legacy Reveal At New York Auto Show

Online, March 30, 2012 (Newswire.com) - New York will once again be the center of the automotive world during the New York International Auto Show and Hassett of Wantagh is announcing the debut of the 2013 Subaru Legacy which has been completely redesigned for the next generation. Amongst the many improvements are a larger, more powerful Boxer® engine, improved miles per gallon, and plenty of technological improvements.

When all eyes descend on New York in early April Subaru's new Legacy model will be ready to inspire awe in onlookers. The most noticeable upgrades will be the new engine options that Subaru has delivered. Customers will have the choice of a standard 2.5-liter DOHC 4-cylinder BOXER engine or a beefier 3.6-liter H6 engine. Although the larger engine will make a whooping 256 horsepower, the standard Subaru engine is no slouch either thanks to its upgrade to 173 horsepower and 174 lb.-ft of torque (up 3 hp and 4 lb-ft from last year).

Even with the extra power, the new Legacy still improved fuel efficiency thanks to a refreshed CVT transmission. Although no official numbers exist yet, Subaru is estimating that the 2013 Legacy will get 24 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and a combined 27 miles per gallon when equipped with the standard engine choice. Incredibly, these numbers are competitive with many midsize sedans that only utilize front wheel drive and don't have the same all-weather advantages gained from Subaru's standard all-wheel drive.

The Japanese manufacturer has always been competitively innovative and this new model certainly backs up this notion. Subaru has packed a new EyeSight Driver Assist System into the 2013 Legacy (and Outback) which is comprised of Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking, and Vehicle Lane Departure Warning. All of the advanced components are designed to keep drivers safe while operating their new Subarus.
