Local Young Dancers Raising Money to Deliver Unforgettable Show to Residents of Vancouver Island

Local Young Dancers of Vancouver Island, have begun raising money towards Travel, Production and Costume Costs for its First Season of Creative Work and they have promised incredible rewards to supporters as well as an unforgettable Thank You show.

Éclat Dance Youth Company, an Ensemble of Local Talented Young Dancers of Vancouver Island, has begun raising money towards Travel, Production and Costume Costs for its First Season of Creative Work and they have promised incredible rewards to supporters as well as an unforgettable performance to be toured across Vancouver Island to give the chance to all residents of the Island to experience firsthand the wonderful Performance they helped to put on.

Éclat Dance was established by two successful ballet dancers who wanted to give the chance to other young dancers to develop their careers and reach their true potential. Jessa Pereira, Artistic Director of the Youth Company, is from the Comox Valley herself and after dancing with the prestigious Goh Ballet for over 6 years, is back to Vancouver Island to initiate this project with her husband, the also former Goh Ballet dancer, Vlademir Pereira.

The company is formed by 12 incredibly talented young dancers with ages ranging from 12 to 17 years old and is mainly focused in Ballet, Neoclassical and Contemporary. Dancers meet every Sunday for over 6 hours of classes and intense rehearsals where they work with resident and guest teachers and choreographers on the creation of new pieces to be featured in their new production of “MOTUS”.

“MOTUS” is the first creative work of the company and will count with Original Choreography by Davi Rodrigues and Monica Proenca as well as Classical pieces staged by Directors Vlademir & Jessa Pereira. The show will also feature other local talents and amazing guest artists.

“This show brings to stage an innovative way to explore and express the diversity of movement through a variety of styles.” – says Jessa Pereira, Artistic Director of the company.

The company has recently launched campaigns to raise funds to cover for part of the cost of the company’s tour to London in 2015, where the young dancers will have the incredibly opportunity to take various classes and workshops and visit the backstage of historic theatres such as The Royal Opera House and others.

“Experiences like this mimics real events of professional dance companies and better prepare our dancers for their professional careers.” – Says Jessa Pereira.

These wonderful Young Dancers are counting on the generosity of the community to support their fundraising campaigns and promised to highly reward supporters for their donations.
In return for your generous donation you can get from a Special Shout Out on the company’s Social Media Pages, to Thank You letters, key chains, company’s t-shirts, company’s tracksuits, tickets to “MOTUS” or even have your name sewed in a tutu to remind the future generations of dancers of your generosity.  And of course, all donors will be listed in all Programs for the season as well as on the company’s website.

The Premiere of “MOTUS” is planned to happen in April of 2015 in Courtenay, BC and the Youth Company plans to tour their production across Vancouver Island, to communities such as Nanaimo, Victoria, Campbell River, Parksville, Port Alberni and Qualicum.

“Touring with our production across the Island is our way to thank the community for their support and generosity by giving them the opportunity to watch in their own communities the show they helped funding featuring local talents with our dancers.” – Says Vlademir Pereira – Vice Director of the company.
