Lockr - A Carers and Parents Dream Android Application.
Finally and application has been developed to give carer's and parents of pre teen children the ability to give them a mobile phone without worrying about bill shock or unauthorised use.
Online, February 17, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Chris Gannon contacted Morpheyous Pty Ltd of Australia to help solve a problem he was facing with his elderly and infirm mother who is suffering from Cancer that sometimes affects her cognitive ability.
Mr Gannon's mother was unwittingly running up large bills on her mobile phone due to incidences of pocket dialling, calling overseas for long periods and general mobile phone over use. Due to impaired cognitive ability, Mr Gannon's mother was unaware of her actions leaving the family with a huge mobile phone bill.
Peter Davis of Morpheyous Pty Ltd, discussed a solution with Mr Gannon and developed a new application for the Android platform.
Lockr is a new application to lock down and allow a carer to give a mobile phone to a person for emergency and restricted use by:
-Allowing calls to pre programmed numbers (friends, family, emergency contacts etc)
-Limiting Calls to 5 minute durations
-Monitoring of call costs.
-Disablement of the Phone when call cost limits are met except for emergency numbers
-Pin protection features.
An secondary use was discovered that solves the issue of pre teens not being able to have a mobile phone due to immaturity. It was realised that parents could also use the features of Lockr to ensure that their children are able to contact someone in an emergency without being able to misuse many smart phones features including running up a huge bill.
Lockr provides peace of mind for Carers and Parents because they can now issue a mobile phone without worrying about Bill Shock or misuse.
The Carer or Parent can easily set up a Smart Phone with Lockr by pin protecting the application settings before giving a phone to an infirm person or child.
With so many features of Smart Phones now a days sometimes it is important to disable many of the features that cause bill shock and Lockr is the perfect application to do this.
