Lower Electric Bill Today, an online provider of electricity information, news, and services, announced today that it will sponsor the team, "For the Petit's" in the 2011 Travelers Walk MS in Cheshire, Connecticut. The Walk will take place Sunday, April 10, 2011, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cheshire High School.

"We are so proud and honored to be a part of this special event, and to sponsor the 'For the Petit's' team," said Christina Cleri, president of Lower Electric Bill Today. "The members of this team have helped transform a horrific tragedy into a positive event with both local and far-reaching benefits for individuals and families affected by multiple sclerosis."

On July 23, 2007, Jennifer Hawke-Petit, a sufferer of multiple sclerosis, and her two daughters, Hayley and Michaela, were brutally killed during a home invasion in the small community of Cheshire, CT. Though severely beaten, husband and father, Dr. William Petit, survived the attack. He now dedicates his life to spreading the hopeful message of his beloved wife and daughters.

"After that fateful night, I learned that these three beautiful ladies were dedicated to finding a cure for MS and worked tirelessly to raise funds as well as awareness for the National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter," said Cheryl Dulina, Walk MS team captain of For the Petit's. "If there is something I've taken away from this tragedy, it's that I want to give back to my community and make a real difference, like the Petit women did."

Dulina formed the team, For the Petit's, in 2008. The team has participated in the Travelers Walk MS in Cheshire each year since, raising thousands of dollars to help find a cure for multiple sclerosis.

"I know we are making a difference and answering Dr. Petit's call to carry on the work of the women he loved," Dulina added. "By joining the fight against MS, we are continuing the Petit legacy and helping all families affected by this horrible disease."
