Luling Care Center Participates in Annual Night in Old Luling

LULING, TEXAS, November 7, 2016 (Newswire.com) - On Saturday, October 15th, Luling Care Center took part in the community’s annual festival, Night in Old Luling. Night in Old Luling is an event that allows the community to come together and kick off the fall season with games, food and hayrides. Proceeds of this event go to benefit the Shanklin Elementary Parent Teacher Boosters.

Luling Care Center’s staff is involved in this festival every year. This year, they took part in the event by having their own booth and selling hamburgers. Don Beard, the Administrator of the facility said the facility’s booth was a beautifully decorated fall theme.

“I’ve been with Luling Care Center for 9 years,” Beard said, “so I really enjoy getting to see our staff get more involved in this community festival every year.”

Beard said staff members even get involved in the pie eating contest every year and the maintenance supervisor almost always wins first place. Beard said he even baked and decorated a cake for the cake auction.

“The triple chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and homemade truffles I made sold for $2,000,” Beard said. “That’s the highest any cake has sold for in the history of Night in Old Luling.”

Above all, Beard enjoys coming out to the event with the staff and getting involved in his community. He said he enjoys seeing it grow from year to year and attending the festival with Luling Care Center staff is a wonderful way to give back and be a part of something great.
