Lunch Cruncher Debuts New Website and Helps Office Workers Make the Most of Their Lunch Breaks

LunchCruncher.com officially launched today, providing a vast community-maintained restaurant database and games to help groups of people decide where to eat.

New York, NY - Lunch Cruncher is a new website created by office workers to solve their endless problem of finding a place to eat that would make everyone involved happy. Rather than spend part of their lunch hour arguing over where to eat, they could play games on LunchCruncher.com to find the one place that would please them all. Now their site is available to the internet at large.

Lunch Cruncher's restaurant database is a collaborative project, where users can add and edit restaurants, as well as nominate out-of-date restaurants for removal. Launched with a database of over 150,000 restaurants nationwide, users can also write reviews, add external links (e.g. a restaurant's official homepage), rate various aspects, and add price and time data to any restaurant. Lunch Cruncher has the goal of becoming the most complete and accurate listing of U.S. restaurants available online.

The games on Lunch Cruncher are not mindless time-wasters; they are designed to be fun and competitive, while narrowing down restaurant choices until one place is found that everyone can agree on. Its first game, Crossout, players add their favorite restaurants to a list. They then take turns crossing out a restaurant that they don't like, and the last restaurant left standing is where everyone goes to eat. The game becomes more exciting when players use special weapons to skip each other, undo crossouts, block moves, form alliances and more.

Lunch Cruncher rewards its users with credits, called Krunchers, for improving the site by adding restaurants, writing reviews, playing games, and participating in other ways. Krunchers can then be spent in games to buy special moves and weapons.

As a community-friendly website, users can create groups, add friends, chat in-game, and discuss the site on Lunch Cruncher's forums. People can create an account on LunchCruncher.com with only their email address, a username, and a password, or they can login using their Facebook account.

Lunch Cruncher plans on adding new games and more incentives for its users in the months ahead, and is open to feedback and suggestions. More information about Lunch Cruncher can be found on their website, in the "about us" section.
