Luristic Announces LureMap - The Ultimate Website Map
Online, March 30, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Irvine, California, March 30, 2010 - Luristic Corporation, a software company specialized in Rich User Experiences (RUE) announced today the availability of LureMap - an ideal website map that never leaves you wonder how you got there or how to go somewhere.
Dr. David Saad - founder and CEO of Luristic, claims that Navigation has a significant impact on usability and user experience. Unfortunately, the great majority of websites and web applications have poor navigation resulting into users' dissatisfaction and even frustration. In fact, Web 2.0 has unintentionally contributed to the problem by promoting simplicity at the expense of functionality - a sacrifice that good software engineering does not need to make.
LureMap is part of the integrated suite of open standard Rich Interactive Components (RIC) called Lure. It provides a comprehensive website map that combines the best of the desktop and the web worlds by offering multiple views of the hierarchical structure of a website along with some intelligent shortcuts. Specifically, LureMap allows users to browse through a website using paradigms which they are already familiar with such as:
 Accordion similar to the accordion in Microsoft Outlook.
 Drop down menus similar to the drop down menus in any toolbar.
 Tree similar to the folder and file hierarchical structure in Windows Explorer or Mac Finder.
 Thumbnails similar to iTunes, iPod, iPhone, Acrobat Reader, Windows Explorer, and Mac Finder.
 Links within a webpage similar to bookmarks in a PDF file.
In addition, LureMap goes beyond the desktop by taking advantage of the web by offering some very useful shortcuts which will be included in future releases such as Bookmarked webpages; Similar webpages to the one being viewed; Recommended webpages based on system's diagnosis of users' surfing habits, behaviors, and preferences; and Most popular webpages based on number of visitors, frequency of visits, and longevity of visits all gathered by sophisticated web analytics.
The current version of LureMap is based on Adobe Flex / Flash, and a Microsoft Silverlight version is planned but not yet developed. A Software Development Kit (SDK) will be offered to web developers to allow them to customize LureMap to match their own website. Furthermore, users will be able to personalize LureMap using Settings.
