Accompanied by the original transmittal letter from Joe Dolan "Please ask the senator to sign his name in ink...The printing clerk of the senate will select the signatures which will print best and will use it for his franked envelopes". Perhaps the only known quintuple signed Robert Kennedy item. Authenticity, provenance and chain of custody verified. This lot does not include the actual metal signature blocks. LYNDON B JOHNSON OFFICIAL SIGNATURE BLOCKS
Original franking dies created and used for Johnson as Vice President. These plates were retired and replaced with Presidential dies after Kennedy's death. Accompanied with 1961 signature samples used for the dies. Countersigned and approved on notepaper 1/14/61. No known example of White House dies have come to auction in recent years.
