M2M Technologies on the Rise in the Middle East
Online, September 19, 2013 (Newswire.com) - With more and more devices connecting and communicating in the world, industries are utilising the latest technologies to create an integrated platform to improve productivity and efficiency in business operations. The region is seeing an increase in interest by businesses across various industries in how machine-to-machine (M2M) devices can facilitate this.
Senior Conference Manager, Rudinov Vincent at DMG Events, explained that "M2M is the acronym for Machine-to-Machine applications (or more accurately, Mobile to Machine and Machine to Mobile communication) and is an emerging area in the field of telecoms technologies." M2M adoption will be addressed by an international speaker faculty at the highly anticipated M2M Middle East Forum hosted by Etisalat and Mobily and taking place in Dubai on 22-23 September 2013 at The Address Dubai Marina. Mr Vincent confirmed "RTA, DEWA, Etisalat, Ministry of Finance, NHS and IKEA will be featured in the debate for a balanced perspective of international and regional best practice".
The forum is aimed at attracting different sectors like utilities, energy, government, healthcare, retail, automotive and logistics where M2M solutions are being implemented. Case studies are presented from key players like RTA, Central Agency for Information Technology Kuwait, DEWA, DHL, IKEA and Emaar Properties.
M2M technologies are changing the way we do business and will play a major role in today's connected world. With more companies eager to adopt technologies to collect real time information these devices offer an opportunity to enhance customer engagement, increase cost savings, improve business process efficiencies, and create potential new revenue streams.
Also the government is involved in rolling out suitable applications for citizens. Loay Al Nakhal, IT Project Manager of Dubai Municipality says: "A way to increase the capabilities of government and non-government functions is to adopt mobile apps. I feel organisations should benefit from this rapidly growing industry."
Shrikant Kabboor, Director IT Enterprise Solutions of Emaar Properties mentions: "The M2M Middle East Forum will be a good opportunity to hear real success stories of companies that have benefited from implementing M2M technology."
"I am very excited to see a dedicated M2M forum for the Middle East. M2M solutions are growing in demand in the region, and I would be very interested to hear how the region's IT community will integrate these solutions to improve business processes for the future." says leading Middle East on-line retailer, Wisam Daoud, Chief Technology Officer of Souq.com.
The two-day forum taking place on 22-23 September is hosted by Etisalat and Mobily in strategic partnership with the M2M Alliance and supported by Gemalto, Safran Morpho and Geotab as silver sponsors, Analysys Mason as knowledge partner and Netcomm Wirless as exhibitor.
