MADONNA. Changes In The Show

Management of Madonna World Tour has reviewed its decision regarding the participation of Lena Katina (ex. t.A.T.u.) in the pop diva's concerts in Russia. Question about warm-up artist is still open.

Management of Madonna World Tour has reviewed its decision regarding the participation of Lena Katina (ex. t.A.T.u.) in the pop diva's concerts in Russia. Question about warm-up artist is still open.

Madonna World Tour 2012 concerts, scheduled for August 7 and 9 in Moscow and St. Petersburg have already caused a considerable stir in the circles, traditionally far from show business. Representatives of the St. Petersburg administration and Orthodox activists are going to personally visit the show in order to ascertain whether the pop diva is going to speak out in defense of gays and lesbians.

The law against homosexual propaganda, adopted not so long ago in the Russian Northern capital, induced Madonna (who has been for many years an icon of the gay movement) to take decisive action. According to her, she will hold her Russian shows in support of sexual minorities. The existence of such a law in a civilized country the singer called "absurdity".

In this regard, it was planned that the opening act for Madonna will be performed by Lena Katina, the ex-singer of the t.A.T.u. This pop project once got a considerable repute not only because of driving songs, but also for the open promotion of the homosexual love. t.A.T.u. stayed in the most influential charts of the U.S. and Europe for a long time.

Participation of Lena Katina in the Russian shows seemed logical until April 20, 2012, when her debut single-remix Never Forget (together with DJ Dave Aude) topped Billboard Dance/Club (link to Billboard chart: http://www.billboard.com/#/charts/dance-club-play-songs?chartDate=2012-04-29). After 8 weeks in the chart, single of the former singer of t.A.T.u. pressed Madonna's Girl Gone Wild, Katy Perry's Part of Me and Starships by Nicki Minaj, who took part in number 1 track from MDNA - Gimme All Your Luvin.

After the triumph of Never Forget, management of World Tour 2012 changed its mind and considered it improper for Lena Katina to be the warm-up artist, despite the fact that Madonna's album MDNA has already conquered the Billboard 200. According to the show organizers, the performer with a higher rating than the headliner has already to think seriously about the solo show.

Nevertheless, it is worth to note that the pop diva has repeatedly spoke about ex. t.A.T.u. in a positive way. "She is the first Russian artist who is so fluent in English, she can become a competitor to our American artists." - Madonna commented the success of Lena Katina.

Madonna has already collaborated with artists of Slavic origin, in particular with KAZAKY - the provocative ballet from Ukraine, who starred in the video for Girl Gone Wild.

The name of the artist, who will perform the opening act for such distinguished headliner at the Russian concerts, is still unknown.
