Major Malaysian broadcaster FineTV network will launch Subscription Video on Demand (VOD) with the help of Australian based video platform provider Switch Media.
The service, due for release in late 2010, will increase the company's market penetration and revolutionise the way FineTV content is distributed.
Switch Media CEO Christopher Stenhouse says the broadcaster is an early adaptor of Internet based 'Subscription Video on Demand' (SVOD). He believes the shift is in line with current trends in Asia.
Switch Media CEO Christopher Stenhouse says: "The subscription TV space in the Asia Pacific is one that is rapidly changing. But the key players like FineTV understand that innovation and ease of access helps maintain competitive edge."
FineTV will continue its current IPTV offering through set up boxes in addition to their new online product.
FineTV network is a subsidiary of Malaysian media and production company Eurofine.
