Major Rap Artist Kokane Uses Woah Media Digital Billboards To Launch New Album
Dr. Dre, Snoop, 2Pac, Ice Cube, Diddy & 50 Cent are just a few of the many artists that the Legendary Kokane has worked with. Now this pioneering rap artist is leveraging the Internet to innovate.
Online, October 24, 2010 (Newswire.com) - For more than 20 years, Jerry B. Long aka "The Legendary Kokane/Mr. Kane" has been a pioneering rap artist. He is often regarded as the most featured artist on the planet. This claim is supported by the fact that Kokane has worked with or appeared on the albums of Brotha Lynch Hung, Spice 1, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eazy E NWA, Ice Cube, Mr. Short Khop, P Diddy, Busta Rhymes, 2 Pac, Cypress Hill, DMX, Jada Kiss, 50 Cent, G Unit, Young Buck, George Duke & Stanley Clark { some of the great jazz musicians }, George Clinton Parliament, Bootsy Collins Parliament, Bernie Burrel Parliament, Larry Blackman Cameo, Raphael Saadiq Toni Tone Tony & many more.
Now with the growing influence of the Internet and Mobile phone networks as a music marketing tool, Kokane is innovating yet again by leveraging digital billboard technology and automated news distribution systems to promote his latest album, "Gimme All Mine".
"Kokane is already the "Feature King", now our goal is to make him the most promoted artist online", says Chris Willis, a key Online Publicist for Kokane.
But what is a digital billboard? And how is Kokane using it to launch his album?
"A digital billboard is a mini web-page that can be copied and shared on any website that accepts html code", says Matrix Thompson, VP, WoahMedia.com.
"The technology is very much the same as a traditional billboard, but it is published online and can be updated in real-time by clients interested in promoting content including music, videos, photos or events, products and services."
Thompson claims that, "In the 21st century you must bring news to people on social networks like Myspace where they meet. You cannot wait for them to visit your website. Digital Billboards allow you to do this, by strategic placing the billboards on thousands of websites and update the billboard in real-time as you create new content."
Digital billboards have been instrumental in helping WoahMedia.com and the I Love The Caribbean Movement to generate more than 4,000,000 pageviews and 300 media placements including 817,000 pageviews for NCB Remittance Services, a key sponsor. Entertainment industry clients like d.bi young, Brazilfest, Lolita Entertainment, Rinkah Entertainment and many more have benefited from digital billboard use.
"We are proud to add Kokane's album announcements, promotional videos and promotional tracks to the digital billboard network. And we're equally confident that our digital billboards and associated online blogging and PR solutions will help Kokane to enhance his profile globally and increase album, digital download and ringtone sales.
