Marine Family Receives New Home In California
Hollywood Filmmaker and 2012 Presidential Candidate Stephen Rollins Presents Keys to a New Home to a Wounded Marine and His Family
Online, May 23, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Actor, Filmmaker, and 2012 Independent Presidential Candidate Stephen Rollins presented keys to a new home in Burbank, California to Sergeant Roberto Hernandez and his family. Sergeant Hernandez was wounded in Afghanistan in 2011, losing both of his legs as a result of an IED attach on his convoy.
"This means so much to me and my family, words cannot explain. I'm speechless" expressed Sergeant Hernandez. "God Bless Mr. Rollins and everyone involved in making this happen for my family". The home was built as a result of many volunteers and generous donations from local Southern California retailers. The project was spearheaded by Stephen Rollins, whose Presidential Campaign's main focus in on helping military families in need. "For me, there is no greater feeling than making something special happen for someone, especially for our military. They give so much in sacrifice, they are our heroes and should be treated as such" Rollins explained.
Stephen Rollins' work with the National Foundation of Military Family Support is extensive, as he has a deep love for the military. His father served as an Army Ranger, and his Uncle a Marine. In 2009, Rollins wrote, produced, and directed a military themed short film entitled "American Identity". The film paid tribute the victims of 9/11 and dedicated to the men and women of the United States Armed Forces. Mr. Rollins described "Our men and women of the military voluntarily put themselves in harms way, for our protection. It is so important that we do our part to say thank you for your service and support them and their families in every way we can when they come home. It is my goal to do everything that I can to help, as I believe that is why God has put me here".
