Marines Inspire Fun Family Time With Their Games

Online, February 9, 2010 (Newswire.com) - San Diego, California, February 9, 2010 - GaZima Games is a game design team made up of one active duty and two former United States Marines. Inspired by spending time with family and friends, these three partnered to create and design family-friendly board games, card games, and party games.
The company was founded in 2007 by former United States Marine Captain Greg Zima, who decided it was time to follow his dream and take his next battle into the game arena. Zima teamed with fellow Marine Officers and long time friends Greg Lane and Stefan Maroudis to develop and design innovative, fun, and educational family games. Having spent time away from family and friends while serving our country, the team wanted to create exciting games that encouraged family togetherness. Using their motto, "Though it's always fun to win, it's time spent with family and friends that you will remember most," as inspiration, they created their first game ZIP!™, the fastest dice game in the universe.
They went on to create several more fun, family favorites including Battle of the Sixes™, Ratuki™, and Gobsmacked™. Gobsmacked™ won the Creative Child 2009 Game of the Year Award and the prestigious National Parenting Seal for 2010. Starting GaZima Games was a risky venture; however, this team was no stranger to risk. Using the same hard work, dedication, passion and can-do attitude these men learned during their military service, the team took this challenge head on. And their hard work has paid off - since starting this adventure, GaZima Games has licensed 11 games to 7 different companies, with many more games under consideration.
With three new games scheduled for release in the next 12 months, the founders of GaZima Games are quite busy. However, despite their hectic schedules, these Marines know the importance of giving back. GaZima Games has donated games to our troops overseas, and just recently donated games to the occupational therapy units at both Balboa Naval Hospital and Camp Pendleton Hospital to assist in the rehabilitation of our Wounded Warriors.
