Mark S. Weiss Joins Cushman & Wakefield's New York Office Brokerage Group as Executive Vice Chairman
Highly accomplished industry veteran brings more than three decades of experience and a range of expertise, with a particular focus on advising law firms and hospitals
New York, NY , January 7, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Cushman & Wakefield, a global leader in commercial real estate services, announced today that Mark S. Weiss has joined the firm’s New York office brokerage group as Executive Vice Chairman.
Mr. Weiss, widely regarded as one of the leading commercial real estate brokerage professionals in New York, has more than three decades of experience in commercial real estate.

Mr. Weiss joins Cushman & Wakefield from Newmark Grubb Knight Frank (NGKF), where he served as a Vice Chairman. In his career, he has completed more than 1,800 transactions comprising a broad range of sizes, scope and innovation and twice won the Real Estate Board of New York’s Most Ingenious Deal of the Year Award. As a leader in the tenant representative practice at NGKF, Mr. Weiss has represented, among others, the following clients; Cleary Gottlieb, The Blackstone Group, Osler, SEIU 32-BJ, Fitzpatrick Cella Harper & Scinto, Catholic Charities, Duane Morris, Kasowitz Benson, AppNexus, Hughes Hubbard & Reed, Mintz, Levin, Publishers Clearinghouse, Jackson Lewis, Cornell University, Columbia University, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), Mt. Sinai Medical Center, Corning Incorporated, Medical Liability Mutual Insurance Company, Ropes & Gray and the Children’s Aid Society.
In 2015, Mr. Weiss led teams that closed the two most noteworthy land assemblages for healthcare institutions in New York City; securing most of a City block at 73rd Street and the FDR Drive for a new campus for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Hunter College, as well as a full City block in Harlem for a Proton Beam Research and Therapy Center to treat pediatric cancers. This new facility will be jointly owned by Memorial Sloan Kettering, Montefiore Hospital, Mt. Sinai Medical Center and ProHealth Medical Management.

Mr. Weiss is a graduate of Syracuse University. He is also a graduate of the David Rockefeller Fellows Class of 2005 and is on The Commercial Board of Directors of The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY). Additionally, he is on the board of directors of The Achilles Track Club (TAC), and The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NYSPCC). In addition to serving on these boards, Mr. Weiss is also a published author, having written an acclaimed book on the impact of breast cancer on the spouse of a breast cancer patient.
