Mark Your Calendar: The 2019/2020 Thought For Food Challenge To Launch on October 16th

The Thought For Food (TFF)™ Foundation announces that the next edition of its TFF Challenge will kick off on October 16, World Food Day. The TFF Challenge is an annual global innovation competition focused on creating and accelerating successful, socially responsible food and agriculture startups in all parts of the world.

TFF calls on the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs to develop new food and agriculture-related business concepts and ventures that improve livelihoods, replenish natural resources, sequester carbon, reduce waste and enhance health and nutrition. The projects should leverage cutting-edge technologies like biotech, blockchain, AI/machine learning and robotics and incorporate collaborative, circular and inclusive business models.

Upon sign-up, all participants will unlock access to the TFF Digital Labs, the world’s first digital startup accelerator and collaboration platform optimized to meet the unique needs of food and agriculture innovators in diverse locations around the world. The TFF Digital Labs features content from leading experts and partners in food, agriculture, science, tech, entrepreneurship, and innovation and represents a 21st-century approach to learning and professional development. It has been built by and for Millennials and Gen Zs and incorporates highly engaging, interactive content that is practical and action-oriented, as well as expert and peer-to-peer mentoring and on-platform perks.

This year’s TFF Challenge also features two levels of participation: Level 1 focuses on taking new teams of entrepreneurs from ideation through to business model development and incorporation; Level 2 is a more advanced program for existing early-stage startups that want to benefit from TFF’s robust training programs, industry connections and global talent pool.

The 2019/2020 TFF Challenge lasts 12 weeks, at which point finalist teams will be selected to take part in the TFF Academy, an in-person incubator for world-class startups, and the TFF Summit, TFF’s global flagship event where the finalist teams pitch to win cash grants from TFF and partner organizations, as well as gain access to exclusive investment opportunities.

Since 2013, the TFF Challenge has trained more than 15,000 entrepreneurs in more than 160 countries, inspired the development of thousands of new business concepts, and helped to launch 50+ startups, which have collectively raised more than $80 million and have delivered breakthrough innovation across all parts of the food and agriculture value chain. Some of the startups that TFF has catalyzed and/or accelerated include:
