Market Research Survey of Titanium Dioxide in China 2010- Edition (5)
Online, October 27, 2010 (Newswire.com) - CCM's latest market report, the fifth edition of China's TiO2 market study is published in October 2010. In this updated report, CCM integrates TiO2 production, consumption, feedstock supply and import & export in China to give an in-depth investigation on China's TiO2 industry.
At present, the production capacity of titanium dioxide(TiO2) in China accounts for 30.00 % of the world total capacity, with the capacity and output of 1,986,000 t/a and 670,540 tonnes respectively in H1 2010. Chinese Tio2 industry has been regularly developing since 2006. By H1 2010, there have been 63 active Tio2 producers in China. However, the domestic Tio2 market was hit by financial crisis which broke out in 2008. Titanium ore, sulfate, and high titanium slag are the major raw materials of Tio2 production. Among them, titanium ore supply is the key factor impacting the operating rate of domestic Tio2 production. Sulfate process is developed in China, but only one manufacturer adopts chloride process. Sulfate process is going to be outdated in overseas, while chloride process is more eco-friendly and welcome by Chinese government. As for consumption, China is the major Tio2 consumption country, with total apparent consumption volume of 1,245,841 tonnes in 2009. The major consumption fields are coating, plastic, and papermaking industries, etc. Since May 2010, it is the first time that China's TiO2 export volume surpasses import volume. China is anticipated to be a net exporter from this year.
This market report comes out in this situation and mainly focuses on the following points:
>The production situation of TiO2 in China
