Online, August 24, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Marketplace Ford is excited for the latest innovation in engine development from Ford to make its way to America. The Ford 1.0 liter 3-cylinder EcoBoost engine is less than half the displacement of most engines on the market and puts out horsepower and torque ratings that rival engines 60 - 80% larger! The one-liter engine has been hugely popular in Europe where gas prices tend to be higher than here in the States. Ford says that since its introduction earlier this year, nearly 25% of all Ford Focus sales in Europe have featured the 3-cylinder. After such great success in Europe, Ford will offer the downsized engine in America as early as next year. And with gas prices continuing to rise across the country, expectations are that it will be just as popular over here.

Customers can expect to see this engine offered in the Ford Focus at first and possibly branching out to the Fiesta and other small cars as well.
