Master Artist Shannon Richardson Featured for "Memories and Muse" Exhibition at Pleasanton's Studio Seven Arts

Online, June 5, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Studio Seven Arts, the Bay Area's largest art gallery, today announced its June exhibition featuring the paintings of award-winning artist Shannon Richardson, an accomplished west coast painter who will be displaying her work in Pleasanton for the first time.

Richardson's thoughtful and intricate oil paintings, themed "Memories and Muse" bring to life childhood fairytales, including whimsical characters, including eccentric themes with bright colors.
The exhibition takes place during a four week period, June 7th to July 6th. A special evening wine, cheese and chocolate tasting reception kicks off the exhibition Friday, June 7th, from 7 to 9pm, where everyone is welcome. And the next day, Saturday, June 8th, Shannon will be the featured artist in the gallery, from 10am to 2pm, where guests can view and discuss her work.

Artist Statement: "I begin each painting not knowing the outcome, such is the path of life. A frenzy of color and expressive gesture ignites the blank canvas with bright buttery oil paint. Within this beginning is the infinite excitement of possibility, at this point I see forms, shapes, characters which I then develop, edit, obliterate and contour.

Shannon Richardson earned a bachelor of fine arts in painting degree with honors from Pacific Northwest College of Art, Portland, OR, studying her junior year in Rome, Italy. She has experienced an exceptional story-filled life, which enables her to produce such intense and honest works an early age. She is collected throughout America and in Italy and Germany.
