Fortmeyer refers back to a time in cosmetology school when she intentionally experimented on herself discovering how much damage her hair could really take. Within a two month time period she double bleached her own hair, double permed it and as she was pulling her hair through a frosting cap found that her hair had melted right off her scalp. "That's when I learned how to work with wigs," she laughs. She has since made corrective hair color her favorite specialty.
