Master of Zen Archery Presented by Shambala Center Los Angeles
The LA Shambhala Center welcomes Kyudo Master Kanjuro Shibata Sensei XX for two public events.
Online, October 18, 2009 (Newswire.com) - Kyudo, also know as Zen Archery, is one of the oldest arts of the Japanese tradition of contemplative warriorship. Its aim is not the target, but the synchronization of awareness and body in the present moment.

Anyone wishing to learn the practice of Kyudo is invited to attend the weekend beginner's class. "Beginner's Kyudo: First Shot" on October 24th & 25th from 10am to 5pm. There are no prerequisites for the class, and all levels of practitioners are welcome regardless of age, gender, or physical strength. Kanjuro Shibata Sensei XX is a 20th generation master bowmaker and archer and 3rd generation Bowmaker to the Emperor of Japan. He has been teaching Kyudo to western meditation students since 1980.
