MathRider Math Game Now Available As Free Trial

Sharper Edge International is pleased to announce the availability of a free 7-day trial of its math fact practice computer game, MathRider. MathRider is designed to help children master arithmetic in the fastest, most fun way possible.

Sharper Edge International is a boutique software house that first developed the MathRider computer game in 2010 to help children master arithmetic faster. Interested parents and educators can now download a free 7-day trial of the full-featured math fact practice game.

Available on Windows and Mac platforms, MathRider dynamically adapts to each player's skill levels as they play the game.

The game helps children master all arithmetic math facts, covering numbers zero to twelve in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

MathRider was created by founder Thomas Brand when he had been unable to find a fun math game for his own children that would help them practice their math facts.

Says Thomas Brand, "I found that my children's understanding of math concepts such as addition and subtraction was quite sound - but what they desperately needed was sufficient practice. That is the case with most children."

Brand continues: "We designed MathRider from the ground up to be math practice first. Unlike most other games in this genre we do not practice dexterity skills - we practice math and we make it fun. The game reacts to the speed and accuracy of the player and in this way feels like a game to the kids when it's really full-on math facts practice."

"It was crucial to recognize improvement and not just perfection in the game. The software recognises problem areas and slows down where necessary. It can also speed up if it senses that the player is sufficiently advanced. In this way, MathRider does not get frustrating or boring, and the quest for better rewards is always on."

Brand concludes: "Players achieve various awards throughout the game, and these awards get better and better as the player improves. This has resulted in many a victory dance as kids achieve 100% mastery in whatever operation they were playing."

MathRider is recommended for grades 2 to 6.
